Born Caleb Cornett in the quiet town of Morehead, Kentucky, Amtrac built his sonic identity at the distinct intersection of rural isolation and club-culture euphoria. Raised on the sprawling arrangements of classic rock staples like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, his creative compass shifted irrevocably when he discovered the kinetic, beat-driven universe of The Prodigy, Moby, and The Avalanches. That synthesis of organic songwriting grit and electronic rhythm anchored his 2011 debut LP, Came Along indie-dance record fueled by Cornett’s own wistful vocals.

He began cementing his presence across the global dance landscape through a run of. breakthrough records like the Stevie Wonder-sampling "Those Days" and the hypnotic "Hold On." Yet where many producers chased bombastic mainstage drops, Cornett pursued mood and nuance. Relocating to Los Angeles, his signature sound evolved into a lush, melancholic strain of deep house, characterized by warm analog synth sweeps, driving four-on-the-floor grooves, and expertly chopped samples.

In 2017, Cornett asserted his creative independence by launching his record label, Openers, inaugurating the imprint with the acclaimed 1987 EP.
