For South Florida-based artist and producer Mad Kelly, music has always been a driving force. In his early years, he began listening to a diverse range of genres, which led to his deep passion for music production. The self-taught, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter has created his own genre-bending sound with influences from alternative rock and electronic music.
Mad Kelly draws inspiration from the twenty-year cycle of musical trends, crafting music that mirrors the sound of two decades ago while forging his own path forward.
The artist’s 2022 debut EP “human” was more than a massive milestone in his artistic journey; it’s home to his thoughts, emotions, and musical exploration that have evolved over the past two years. The project perfectly encompasses his undeniably unique style. Mad Kelly shares, “I want to make music that everybody can resonate with and can get something out of—regardless of who they are and what they’re into.”
Kelly’s 2023 singles, “Be Aggressive” and “Stupify,” embody a nostalgic soundscape and explore a diverse range of topics. The tracks garnered praise from the likes of KROQ, Spindle Magazine, and Flaunt Magazine.
His 2024 single “Everybody’s Enemy” was highlighted in Revolver magazine, which premiered the song alongside its nostalgia-steeped music video. Revolver described the track as harking back to the crunchy angst-rock of the late Nineties with a modern twist, cementing Mad Kelly’s place in the alternative rock genre.
In 2023, Mad Kelly performed at iii Points festival and followed it up with a standout show at The Bourbon Room in Los Angeles in 2024. Additionally, he was featured on Nitti Gritti’s track “Control (Get The Fuck Up),” further showcasing his versatility as an artist.
The artist’s musical proficiency, early 2000s-inspired style, and addictive social presence on TikTok—where he now boasts over 280K followers—have brought him to the forefront of the alternative rock scene and contributed to his ongoing success.
